Who we are:
Mehad (Ex-UOSSM France) is a French health and international solidarity NGO created in 2011 as part of the response to the Syrian crisis. It is committed and alerts to the urgency of building, with local actors, sustainable health systems, guarantors of sustainable development for the benefit of populations. Mehad carries out vital missions with populations, relying on a network of more than 1,000 health professionals, mobilized from France and all over the world.
Mehad operates in Syria and Ukraine, through its headquarters based in Paris and its 3 representative offices in Gaziantep (Turkey), Erbil (Iraq) and Lviv (Ukraine). Mehad’s programs are organized around different areas: hospital management, access to health care (primary, community, maternal & child), training of health personnel, mental health, protection, secondary and tertiary health, nutrition.
For its activities, Mehad relies on a team of approximately 10 people at headquarters, 200 employees in the field and 300 volunteers.
Position summary :
The project, entitled «Improving Damage Control in Ukraine (IDaCU)» is a project focused on the training of health professionals in different disciplines of war medicine, based on the doctrine of damage control. The project aims to train more than 1,800 health professionals over 12 months as well as equip 40 hospitals with chemical prevention equipment.
The M&E Assistant is responsible for, among other tasks, the training centre M&E activities (training evaluation, trainee’s satisfaction surveys, post-distribution monitoring). He/she works directly with M&E focal point based at the Paris HQ.
The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness and impact of the medical project in Ukraine. Reporting to the M&E and Research Senior Coordinator based in Paris HQ, this role is responsible for managing the evaluation of training sessions, collecting pre and post-training results, conducting post-distribution monitoring, and measuring project indicators according to the project’s logical framework. The M&E Assistant’s efforts contribute to the project’s overall success by providing valuable insights for continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
- Manage the evaluation process of each training session, including collecting feedback from participants and trainers.
- Co-designing tools and measures for the evaluation of the project.
- Analyze training evaluations to identify areas for improvement and assess training effectiveness.
Pre and Post-Training Results:
- Collect and compile pre-training and post-training results to measure knowledge and skill improvement among trainees. Assist in developing data collection tools and methods to ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Oversee post-distribution monitoring activities, ensuring that medical equipment and supplies reach intended recipients effectively.
- Co-design tools and measures for the monitoring elements of the project
- Document and report on post-distribution impact and address any issues that arise.
Project Indicator Measurement:
- Co-design and implement the project’s M&E plan by collecting data on project indicators as outlined in the logical framework.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of indicator data.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Collaborate with the M&E and Research Coordinator to ensure that M&E efforts align with project objectives.
- Contribute to the preparation of M&E reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support project staff and partners in understanding M&E processes and requirements.
- Assist in building the capacity of project team members in data collection and reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as monitoring and evaluation, statistics, public health, or related discipline.
- Previous experience in M&E activities or similar roles, preferably in projects or programs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English and Ukrainian
